The MyBuckStory.com Story

Written by Adam Dunnom on May 19, 2009 at 11:02AM | Categories Outdoors

We thought our users would appreciate a brief history about how MyBuckStory.com came to be, and where we would like it go from here. That being said, It all started back in November 2008 when I realized it would be great to have a website where whitetail hunters could post their stories online to one centralized, organized, and real time website. I then spoke of this idea my good friend Andrew Myers, who also happened to be a lawyer. Andrew, being an avid outdoorsman, felt the idea was worth pursuing we agreed to work with each other to see this through.

Andrew and I knew we would need plenty of help to make the site come to life, so in late December 2008 we approached another mutual friend, Kyle Miller, about joining our team. Kyle, also a passionate hunter and fisherman, was happy to begin this new project. For his part, Kyle would help with physical marketing, online gorilla marketing, and spear heading our youth program.

Since neither Andrew, Kyle, nor myself knew anything about developing or designing a website, we approached a colleague of mine, David Malone. After hearing about the project, David Malone was excited to join the team. David would be in charge of the back end coding and developing of the website. It also helped that David loved fishing and spent most of his nights fishing with buddies when he lived in Florida.

The final piece of the puzzle was complete when Jon Best, another mutual friend and colleague, joined our team in 2009 and took over as the websites head designer.

Together Andrew, Kyle, David, Jon, and myself , all in our twenties, made a "Dream Team" of sorts. Everyone was on board and they were all extremely excited for the road ahead. We began having weekly meetings and conference calls to discuss ways to make the site what it has become today.

Now, we turn to YOU, our Members, and ask that YOU take this site from here and begin writing the story of what will become the BEST outdoor website on the market!

Thank you for your support!
